Edward McCain earned money to buy his first camera by washing dishes at an Italian restaurant in Independence, Missouri. He was 14.Since then, a lot has changed in the world, and in McCain's life. But there is one constant: A thirst for beauty. "I have a commitment to showing what's beautiful about the world," he says. "When I think back on it, I guess it's always been there. Like a voice in the back of my mind. Now it's an everyday thing. Some people never figure out why they're here. I consider myself lucky."
